Our philosophy
We live on a planet that is not ours alone. We pay tribute to all past, present and future lives that share this common home with us; but we also honor our home itself, understanding that our existence must happen in harmony with the great diversity that surrounds us.
The search for a better urban future is nothing more than the search for the dignity of all forms of life. Understanding other realities and contexts should lead us to empathetic, regenerative and conscious ways of living.
Nuestra historia
In 2021, Rick was invited to lead the Environment and Mobility chapter of the ‘Centro de Pensamiento Programático’ initiative, promoted by then Medellín councillor Simón Molina. Although the initiative did not come to fruition, the team of this chapter - in which Miguel, Jose, Juana, Caro and Daniel participated - did achieve the expected objectives and constancy. Together, they decided to continue working even outside of this project.
LaOtraCiudad is the result of months of discussions, workshops and dreams of the initial members and others who joined along the way. The Corporation was born out of the conviction that young people have the capacity and the duty to start, right now, to build the cities we want to live in for the rest of our lives.
Today we are more than 20 students and young professionals who are committed to a greener, healthier and safer world.
